Live updates: Michigan at NFL Scouting Combine

• 7:25 p.m. — Daniel Jeremiah reveals that the reason why Colson didn’t participate in combine testing or drills was because of a hamstring injury.

• 7:01 p.m. — Colson won’t work out at all. It also appears that Barrett at least won’t run the 40-yard dash. Daniel Jeremiah discussed Colson, his No. 43 overall draft prospect, on the broadcast, though.

“You talk about a big linebacker, who played last year with the broken hand — shows you the toughness,” the NFL Network analyst said. “You couldn’t keep him off the field. The comparison when I watched him was [former Michigan linebacker] David Harris. Leadership, toughness, excellent, excellent player with the Jets.

“To me, this is a top-50 pick every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I think whoever gets him is going to get somebody they can plug into the middle of their defense and let him roll.”

• 5:41 p.m. — Harrell is going through pass-rush drills.

• 5:29 p.m. — Harrell goes through a change-of-direction drill, after not running the 40-yard dash.

“You can say this about all these Michigan guys: He plays with tremendous effort,” Jeremiah said.

• 5 p.m. — Colson won’t run the 40-yard dash either.

• 4:49 p.m. — Neither McGregor nor Harrell will run in the 40-yard dash.

• 4:48 p.m. — Jenkins’ 4.91-second 40-yard dash time has been deemed official. That ranked fifth among defensive tackles. His 1.70-second 10-yard split checked in sixth among defensive tackles.

• 4:35 p.m. — Jenkins and the first group of the day have concluded their workouts.

• 4:26 p.m. — On the broadcast, New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan calls Jenkins’ ring drill “picture perfect.” Jordan added that “yeah, he’s done that drill before.”

“The interesting thing with him is when you put in all the numbers that he’s posted today from his workout, and they’re almost identical to Justin Madubuike, who’s going to get franchise tagged by the Ravens,” Jeremiah said. “They’re almost identical from a body type and testing standpoint.”

• 4:18 p.m. — More bag work for Jenkins.

• 4:02 p.m. — Jenkins stumbled a bit at the end of a four-bag agility drill that includes shuffling from side to side, running forward and backpedaling.

“A little bit out of control there, but the athleticism’s there,” Jeremiah said after the drill.

• 3:55 p.m. — Jenkins is now going through agility drills.

• 3:40 p.m. — Harrell impresses with his 37-inch vertical jump. That would’ve been the fourth-highest mark at the combine last year.

• 3:38 p.m. — Jenkins improved his 40 time on his second run, going from 5.02 to 4.91.

“That was the expectation,” Jeremiah said of Jenkins bettering his time.

• 3:18 p.m. — Jenkins runs a 5.02-second 40-yard dash on his first of two attempts.

“Now, we have the first of 18 Michigan Wolverines at the NFL Combine; that’s an all-time record,” host Rich Eisen, a Michigan alum himself, said on the NFL Network broadcast. “And it’s only fitting that Kris Jenkins is the first that we see, because you want to talk about leaders and best — this kid was exactly that and is exactly that over this run over the last few years of the national champions.”

“And he is a physical freak,” analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. “When your nickname is ‘The Mutant,’ that means you’re pretty darn athletic. And at his size, you’re going to see him move really, really well.”

• 2:55 p.m. — Jenkins registers a 30.00″ in the vertical jump.

• 2:44 p.m. — Jenkins posts a 9’7″ in the broad jump.

• 2 p.m. — Measurements are in for Michigan’s Thursday participants.
