Michigan Wolverines football junior linebacker Micah Pollard has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The Florida native played in 30 career games and two this season, meaning he has two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Pollard, a Jacksonville native and the son of former NFL tight end Marcus Pollard, was a three-star recruit and the No. 620 player in the country coming out of the 2022 class, ranking 65th among tight ends and 87th among players from the state of Florida.

Pollard appeared in 13 games on special teams and four at linebacker during his true freshman season in 2022, making 8 tackles and grabbing team Special Teams Freshman of the Game honors for his performances in wins over Colorado State and Penn State. Last season, he played in all 15 of U-M’s games and victories en route to a College Football Playoff national title season, making 7 tackles.

This year, Pollard was limited to two contests – the Fresno State and Texas games – before appearing on the availability report the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury designation.

Pollard attended Bartram Trail HS and helped lead his team to a 19-5 record over his last two seasons at the prep level. He began his career as a defensive back before switching to linebacker when he jumped to varsity football. His junior prep season in 2020 saw him make 55 tackles, 22 for loss and 11 sacks to go with two forced fumbles and an interception.

Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class was ranked 9th in the country and included a five-star prospect in cornerback Will Johnson, along with future stars Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant at defensive tackle, EDGE Derrick Moore and star tight end Colston Loveland. The group has two Big Ten titles, two trips to the CFP, a national title and three wins over Ohio State on their resumes.

Pollard is the 9th Michigan player to enter the portal since the end of the season, joining QB Jayden Denegal, RB Cole Cabana, RB Tavierre Dunlap, WR Tyler Morris, OL Raheem Anderson, OL Tristan Bounds and P Tommy Doman.

The transfer portal is open from Dec. 9 through Dec. 28.
