Transfer portal update: Michigan hosting OL target next week, in contact with RB
The Michigan Wolverines are headfirst into the offseason after a 7-5 regular season with plenty of needs for upgrades on the offensive side of the ball. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, there has already been some activity for head coach Sherrone Moore and staff in the transfer portal.
Michigan has been in contact with former Florida State and Florida Atlantic running back CJ Campbell and former Liberty Offensive lineman Jordan White, the latter of whom is set to visit on Dec. 11.

Campbell, who has already heard from Michigan, Duke and Indiana in the portal, stands 5-10, 202 pounds and rushed for 884 yards on 165 carries (5.1 ypc) this past season. He was also a big-time threat to catch the ball out of the backfield with 40 grabs for 466 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Campbell was a three-star prospect and the nation’s No. 2342 recruit coming out of high school, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He redshirted in 2021 at Florida State before suffering a preseason injury in 2022, but played the final six games with 18 rushes for 64 yards. He tallied 7 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown last season in Tallahassee, scoring a touchdown on a 70-yard rush.
Pivoting over to the offensive line, White started his career at West Virginia and played in 11 games between the 2020-22 seasons, redshirting in 2020 and 2021. White was a Conference USA All-Conference second-team member and started all 14 games at center for the Flames, finishing the season with a 72.1 offensive grade.

White (6-2, 300) started 11 games this year, posting an 81.4 overall grade on Pro Football Focus, which was the sixth-highest in the country. He will take an official visit to Vanderbilt two days after Michigan on Dec. 13.
Campbell and White are two of the early names linked to Michigan with the portal set to open up next week. The other is former Indiana wide receiver Donaven McCulley, who Nakos and On3’s Steve Wiltfong have RPM picks in for him landing at Michigan. Things have been quiet on that front since a reported visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend.
