The Michigan Wolverines‘ Big Ten showdown with the newly-joined Washington Huskies has been set as a 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT kickoff on Oct. 5 with NBC Sports carrying the national broadcast. The game will also be available on the Peacock streaming platform.

The game is a rematch of last year’s College Football Playoff National Championship game against Washington, a 34-13 Michigan win over the Huskies at NRG Stadium in Houston. Now, the game sees them meeting as Big Ten foes for the very first time.

Both programs are breaking in new head coaches in Sherrone Moore at Michigan and Jedd Fisch at Washington. Both men are former assistants under Jim Harbaugh in Ann Arbor.

Through the first four games of the season, both Michigan and Washington are 3-1. U-M’s loss came to No. 1 Texas in Week 2, while Washington dropped a rivalry game to Washington State in non-conference play.

Michigan hosts Minnesota in Ann Arbor at 12 p.m. on FOX this Saturday, while Washington heads to Rutgers for a primetime showdown on Friday evening at 8 p.m. The Wolverines are on a bye after the Washington game, while the Huskies head to Kinnick Stadium to take on Iowa.

Michigan quote of the day

“You get a defensive score from Will Johnson, which was an incredible play as well, but the offense didn’t do anything in the second half until Kalel broke that 63-yard run to set them up. It was the first first down of the second half. So they need to get more out of the passing game, but they bought themselves some time by getting a marquee victory over the No. 11 team in the country to allow Alex Orji to develop in the passing game to get healthier as well as Colston Loveland. I think he would be a huge piece and this game could have looked a little bit differently if he was in there.”
