Michigan Wolverines football is hosting Michigan State in an in-state rivalry matchup at The Big House. Kickoff was at 7:44 p.m. ET on ABC. Follow along below for live updates throughout the game.
Live updates: Michigan vs. MSU
• Final: Michigan runs out the clock and wins, 29-7.
• 4:04 4Q — Payton Thorne’s pass was intercepted by Michigan safety Rod Moore, who returned it 34 yards to the U-M 41-yard line. That marks the first U-M-forced turnover of the game.
• 11:09 4Q — After a Michigan State punt following a five-play, 8-yard drive, the Wolverines take over on their own 16-yard line.
• 12:47 4Q — Michigan scores its second touchdown of the game, a 4-yarder from running back Blake Corum, who now has 145 yards for the day. The Wolverines have a 29-7 lead after the Jake Moody extra point.
• 14:45 4Q — Jake Moody nails a 54-yard field goal, his career-long, to make it 22-7.
• End of the third quarter: Michigan is driving and has 2nd and 5 on the MSU 41-yard line at the end of the third stanza. The Wolverines have a 19-7 advantage.
• 3:58 3Q — Michigan settles for another field goal after a 54-yard drive. This time, Jake Moody’s boot is 33 yards. The Maize and Blue lead, 19-7.
• 8:33 3Q — Michigan State goes three-and-out for the first time tonight and punts it away. The Wolverines take over at their own 31-yard line.
• 9:15 3Q — Michigan drove 57 yards in 11 plays but stalled out, before Jake Moody hit a 39-yard field goal to make it a two-possession game. The Wolverines hold a 16-7 edge after the first drive of the second half. Blake Corum has now gone over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season and has 109 yards tonight.
• End of the first half: Michigan holds a 13-7 lead.
• 1:08 2Q — For the second time this game, Michigan fails to score a touchdown inside the 10-yard line. This time, Jake Moody connects on a 25-yard field goal to take a 13-7 lead after an 86-yard drive.
• 7:31 2Q — Michigan State drove all the way to the 5-yard line but ball-carrier Jalen Berger was stuffed for a loss of 2 yards by Kris Jenkins and Mazi Smith. Michigan takes over at the 7.
• 11:58 2Q — J.J. McCarthy pitches it forward (a pass) to Blake Corum for a 2-yard touchdown to give the Wolverines a 10-7 edge. The Wolverines drove 80 yards in eight plays.
• End of the first quarter: Michigan State 7, Michigan 3. The Wolverines have the ball on their own 38-yard line, 1st and 10.
• 2:20 1Q — Michigan drives 41 yards in eight plays, capped off by a Jake Moody 22-yard field goal to score the first points of the game. The Wolverines lead, 3-0 near the end of the first quarter.
• 9:03 1Q — Michigan State safety Xavier Henderson forced a fumble after Michigan wideout Cornelius Johnson caught the ball and was reaching out for extra yards. The Spartans take over on their own 37-yard line after the Wolverines were putting a drive together.

• 11:52 1Q — Michigan State commits four penalties on its first drive, and it’ll punt after picking up one first down. The Maize and Blue take over at the 30-yard line.
• Michigan won the coin toss and chose to defer to the second half. The Maize and Blue defense will take the field first.
Michigan football flyover, light show and more planned for Saturday night
In addition to the matchup with the Spartans, Michigan has several different festivities planned for Saturday night at The Big House.
Prior to kickoff, over 150 Michigan football alumni players will be recognized on the field. There will be a flyover by US Coast Guard H-65 Helicopters, as well.
At halftime, the Michigan Marching Band will celebrate Dia de Los Muertos with a “vibrant celebration of Latin American music and heritage.”
In the third quarter, there will be a light show and singalong to the song, Mr. Brightside by The Killers.
During the game, former Michigan defensive lineman Mark Messner will be recognized. He was recently inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022 and is set to be honored as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
