Newsstand: Michigan baseball coach Erik Bakich on celebration in Omaha — 'It's a privilege to get dumped with Gatorade'
Tweets Of The Day
Michigan Wolverines baseball is on a magical ride, thus head coach Erik Bakich getting doused with Gatorade. As shown in the clip below, that was part of the Maize and Blue’s Big Ten Tournament championship celebration. They were hovering around .500 all season long but went on a run in Omaha and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. Michigan will take on Oregon Friday night (7 p.m. ET on ESPN Plus) as part of the Louisville region.
“I haven’t seen this,” Bakich said on Big Ten Today, watching the video of his Gatorade shower. “Yup, yup. That was definitely one of the highlights for me personally. Of course, this is [juniors] Tito Flores and Joey Velazquez. They’re always messing with me. But I love it. It’s a privilege to get dumped with Gatorade.”
It’s officially satellite camp season for Michigan.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff have been pro-satellite camp ever since he arrived prior to the 2015 campaign, and the Maize and Blue are able to hit camps on 10 different days this month, starting with the Mercer mega camp Wednesday.
