Michigan transfer commit Yaxel Lendeborg has 'outstanding all-around day' at NBA Combine

Michigan Wolverines basketball has two prospects at the 2025 NBA Combine in Chicago in big men Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf, but all eyes are on transfer commit Yaxel Lendeborg. The former UAB forward will decide between the NBA and returning to college to play at Michigan before the May 28, 11:59 p.m. ET deadline.
Lendeborg, who measured in at 6-foot-8 and 1/2 inches, impressed during Tuesday’s on-court drills.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, who projected Lendeborg by the Phoenix Suns at No. 29 overall, listed the Michigan transfer commit as one of the top standouts of Tuesday in Chicago. The other standouts ESPN identified are North Carolina guard Drake Powell, Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier, Alabama guard Mark Sears and Texas guard Tre Johnson.
“The highest-ranked prospect, and lone projected first-round pick who is fully participating in all competitive action, Lendeborg did nothing to diminish his standing with an outstanding all-around day in drills and 3-on-3 play,” Givony wrote. “His measurements are outstanding, a hair under 6-foot-10 in shoes, 235 pounds with a 7-4 wingspan, a 9’0 ½ standing reach, and huge hands, comparable to the likes of Isaiah Stewart and Amare Stoudemire, per the DraftExpress historical database.
“Lendeborg demonstrated legit skill in drills — converting 69 percent of his aggregate field goal attempts (tied for 10th best at the combine) and also showed off his ballhandling and passing ability in 3-on-3, showing off in impressive plays as both as a creator and finisher.
“Lendeborg’s defense is a work in progress, something another year in college could certainly help with, but there’s little doubting his skill and talent, and he has more upside than most 22 year olds, barely playing any organized basketball prior to graduating high school.”

Michigan head coach Dusty May and the Wolverines’ staff is on hand in Chicago, and the Maize and Blue will once again be in attendance Wednesday, a source told TheWolverine.com.
“Michigan’s Dusty May, Lendeborg’s potential future coach, was present Tuesday to support him along with much of his coaching staff,” Givony wrote. “Whether Lendeborg ever plays a game for May will likely depend on how he performs in 5-on-5 play over the next two days, as the crowd of NBA executives had greatly diminished when Lendeborg appeared in the very last session of prospects.”
Lendeborg will participate in combine scrimmages Wednesday. He’s on Team Domercant, which will face Goldin and Team Lazare. Here are the rosters for Wednesday:
