Date revealed for Michigan basketball game against TCU in 2025-26

The priority for Michigan Wolverines basketball head coach Dusty May and Co. is to build out the roster, before focusing on constructing the schedule for 2025-26. But the Maize and Blue do have one non-conference game on the books for next season.
According to CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein, Michigan’s game at TCU will take place Nov. 14, 2025, on a Friday night in the second week of the college basketball season.
U-M and TCU played the first of a two-game home-and-home series last season. The Wolverines defeated the Horned Frogs, 76-74, Nov. 15 at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. Forward/center Danny Wolf put on a show with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists, while guard Nimari Burnett chipped in 16 points and guard Tre Donaldson added 14.
Schollmaier Arena — capacity of 6,800 — is the home of the TCU Horned Frogs. According to Kenpom, TCU has the second-best home court advantage in college basketball.
The Wolverines will also play Wake Forest in non-conference play at a “TBD neutral arena in Michigan.” The two teams squared off in Greensboro, N.C., last November.
TCU finished last season 16-16 overall and 9-11 in the Big 12, which checked in as the third-best conference in America according to Kenpom. The Horned Frogs fell to Colorado in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.
TCU ranked an abysmal 203rd nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency but were strong on defense, checking in 33rd. This offseason, the Horned Frogs lost point guard Frankie Collins — a former Michigan player in 2021-22 — to the transfer portal (Vanderbilt).
Head coach Jamie Dixon is entering his 10th season at TCU. The Horned Frogs made the NCAA Tournament three-straight seasons from 2022-24 before missing it this past year.

Active in the transfer portal, Dixon and Co. have landed two transfers so far — former Georgetown point guard Jayden Pierre and former Iowa point guard Brock Harding.
Michigan won 27 games, cut down nets as Big Ten Tournament champions, advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and finished No. 10 in the nation in the Associated Press poll in 2024-25, its first season under May. The Wolverines more than tripled their win total from last season (eight).
In an appearance on the Zach Gelb Show this week, May agreed that Michigan had a successful 2024-25 campaign, with momentum toward the future.
“Yeah, we obviously laid a really strong foundation with everything that we do,” May said. “We’re gonna continue to improve. As we get through this portal period, we’ll sit down as a staff and do another autopsy on our season, and figure out what we’re gonna keep and what we’re gonna get rid of.
“But without a doubt, just representing Michigan has so much to sell on its own, without us. And then you add in the quality staff and players we have in our program, and we’re committed to doing it together, I think we have a lot to sell, and ultimately that’s what you want out of year one is momentum moving forward.”
