Wolverine TV: Howard Eisley, Hunter Dickinson preview Michigan's matchup with Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana
Michigan Wolverines basketball will host Indiana Saturday evening at Crisler Center. Assistant coach Howard Eisley and junior center Hunter Dickinson discussed the upcoming matchup with Indiana star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis and the Hoosiers.
Indiana is red hot, having won seven of eight games, but the Wolverines are also on a three-game win streak. Michigan is playing with a better “sense of urgency,” Eisley said, and will have to possess that Saturday against the Hoosiers.
“Obviously, they’re playing really good basketball right now,” Eisley said of Indiana. “Trayce is probably one of the best players in the league. He’s having a phenomenal year, and he really has improved his skill set. So, he’s going to be a force for us to reckon with. Him scoring on the low post and his offensive rebounding and his presence on the defensive end, as well. We have to do a good job on him. It starts there.
“And with [Indiana freshman point guard Jalen Hood-]Schifino, he’s the stirrer of the pot for them. He’s having a great year for them, and we have to be locked in with our defensive coverages, pick and roll.”
Dickinson, meanwhile, will go head to head with Jackson-Davis for the fourth time in their careers. In four games against Michigan, Jackson-Davis is averaging 14 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Dickinson is averaging 17.7 points and 7 rebounds per tilt in three matchups with the Hoosiers.

“Really good player, not only in the conference but in the country, so I think he feels the same way — it’ll be a really fun matchup,” Dickinson said. “I enjoy playing really good players because they usually bring the best out of me. That’s why I decided to come to the Big Ten, because that’s where the best bigs play, and I feel like I’m in that conversation. I feel like it’ll be a good test for me.”
