Newsstand: Jamal Crawford dominates celebrity jeopardy, shouts out his Michigan degree
Tweets Of The Day
Former Michigan basketball guard Jamal Crawford dominated celebrity jeopardy with Shaquille O’Neal and Candace Parker. O’Neal couldn’t believe Crawford’s accuracy — and the former U-M standout continually shouted out his college degree.
Michigan football led the country in average home attendance (110,246), well ahead of No. 2 Penn State (107,379) and No. 3 Ohio State (104,663). Six of the next seven teams on the rankings hail from the SEC, with No. 6 Texas being the outlier (and the Longhorns will soon move to the conference).
Michigan basketball is targeting Darryn Peterson, who’s the No. 4 player in the 2025 On3 50, along with other big-time programs Ohio State and Kentucky. Peterson caught up with On3’s Jamie Shaw to share the latest on his recruitment.
“I watch [former Michigan guard] Jordan Poole,” Peterson told Shaw. They showed me a lot of his highlights when I was there, and I saw how they ran their offense around him. They use a lot of handoffs and ball screens, and I am comfortable playing like that.”
Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh has been active on the recruiting trail this week, and made an interesting stop to visit five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

From The Wolverine’s Zach Libby’s story:
Harbaugh was also in Chandler, Arizona, and met with 2024 five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 ranked rising junior in the country across all positions, according to the On3 Consensus. The meeting was first reported by FOX 2 News reporter Jennifer Hammond on Twitter.
Raiola, the son of former Nebraska and Detroit Lions offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, has been uncommitted for over a month after backing off his verbal pledge from Ohio State prior to the early signing period for the 2023 class. Raiola made national news in early-May when he shut down his recruitment and joined the Buckeyes.
In a recent interview with On3 Recruiting Director Chad Simmons, Raiola is ”wide-opened” and has conducted a methodical approach to finding his future home at the next level. Schools like Nebraska, whose offensive line coach, Donvoan Raiola, is the uncle of the 6-foot-3 and 225-pounder, as well as Oregon, USC, and Georgia, are heavily communicating with Raiola now that he’s back on the market.
Quote Of The Day
“He still has to slow down, but it’s all due to work. He puts in work and work and work. It’s not just his shot, but he looks at the offensive patterns, and he understands the scouting report. The future is bright for him.”
