Wolverine TV: Juwan Howard previews Michigan vs. Purdue, discusses Jett Howard injury, Zach Edey dominance
Michigan Wolverines basketball head coach Juwan Howard met with the media Wednesday morning, ahead of his team’s Thursday matchup with Purdue, the No. 1-ranked team in the nation. Watch video of Howard’s press conference below.

Juwan Howard discusses Michigan guard Jett Howard’s injury
Michigan freshman guard Jett Howard went down with a left ankle injury late in the first half of Sunday’s game against Minnesota, a 60-56 win for the Maize and Blue. He was seen in a boot on the bench in the second half, had his X-rays come back negative and is rehabbing, hoping to come back as soon as possible.
His status is unknown for Thursday’s game at this point. Howard did not practice Tuesday and is questionable to do so Wednesday.
“Jett is going through the rehab treatment,” Michigan’s head coach said Wednesday morning. “In Jett’s mind, he’s saying he’s going to play. It’s all about the health. Health is more important than any game. We want to have a healthy Jett out there, instead of a guy who’s hobbling.
“He just wants to be there to help his team because that’s how he’s wired mentally. He’s also a competitor, and he wants to win. He feels like when he’s not playing he’s not helping the team. The key is just continue to go through rehab treatment and try to help him get healthy. When I see that he’s ready to go health wise, that’s when he’ll be ready to play. And I’m not saying that’s going to be next game; I don’t know when that’s going to be.”
