Michigan basketball routs Northwestern

Michigan led by just one point at the break but pulled away and beat Northwestern by 17 points on its home floor. The Wildcats were playing their fifth game in 11 days and may have ran out of gas, but that doesn’t take away from what the Wolverines did.

Bufkin chipped in 15 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in perhaps his best performance of his career, and Duke transfer Joey Baker got involved with 14 points, 9 of which came in the second half.

Michigan picked up its first Quad 1 win of the season — much needed — and now takes on an 11-11 Ohio State team that appears to be falling off the tracks, with head coach Chris Holtmann having gotten kicked out of the game in a loss to Wisconsin today.

Michigan and Ohio State will tip off at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Crisler.
