Michigan has one current player and three former players in the FIBA World Cup in Asia — graduate forward Olivier Nkamhoua (Finland), forward Moritz Wagner (Germany), wing Franz Wagner (Germany) and guard Ignas Brazdeikis (Lithuania). The Wagners’ team went up against Nkamhoua Tuesday, with Germany winning in blowout fashion, 101-75. Moritz scored 12 points and added 3 rebounds and 1 assist, while Franz didn’t play. Nkamhoua posted a team-high 14 points, adding 4 boards and 3 assists.

Yesterday marked just four days until Michigan kicks off the 2023 season with a noon ET matchup against East Carolina at The Big House. The Maize and Blue have won their last four season openers and are looking to extend that streak.

Ironically, Harbaugh will not be able to coach Saturday due to a three game school imposed suspension. He’ll also miss the next two contests against UNLV and Bowling Green.

Swanky Wolverine with some photo shop work to highlight the date of when Michigan’s 2023 football journey begins. The Wolverines have never faced East Carolina. U-M is a 36 point favorite according to the Draft Kings Sportsbook, though defensive coordinator Jesse Minter noted this week that East Carolina has a long history of pulling off upsets over Power Five opponents. Defensive tackle Cam Goode, who faced ECU three times as a member of UCF before transferring to Michigan, called the Pirates “sneaky.”

Quote Of The Day

“Blake and Dono are amazing running backs and you guys are all going to see that this season. I’m the biggest guy in the room, so I’m going to bring that power. That’s my goal for myself is to add something that they don’t add as much to help out the team and help out the room. With everything that they’re going to do, I’m hoping to just bring some power and bring that extra hammer down from the running back position.”
