Michigan point guard transfer Tre Donaldson picked his transfer destination two days after entering the portal. He’ll play next season at Miami — in his home state of Florida (he’s a Tallahassee native) — for first-year head coach Jai Lucas.

More on Donaldson’s one-year career at Michigan from The Wolverine’s story earlier this week:

Donaldson started every game for the Wolverines in 2024-25 and averaged 11.3 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He shot 43.3 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from long range as one of the Wolverines’ top three-point shooters.

Donaldson was a hero in a few Michigan games this year, but none bigger than the Big Ten Tournament semifinal win over Maryland. He took an inbounds pass coast to coast for an 81-80 Wolverines win to set up a championship tilt with Wisconsin, which U-M won to capture a title.

But Donaldson had his ups and downs as Michigan’s starting point guard after playing at Auburn for two years, primarily as a backup. He struggled mightily in both losses to Michigan State, and he played one of his worst games of the year in a loss to his former team in the Sweet 16. He scored 5 points but had no assists and turned it over 4 times in a loss to the Tigers, going 2-for-9 in 30 minutes.

Quote Of The Day

“It was great to spend time building our relationships with the coaches, especially Coach (Sherrone) Moore. It was great to hear how he thought so highly of Jordan and how he spoke so highly of him as an athlete and his character. We speak to him on the phone often, but to speak to him in person and have some quality time with him was a standout to me. Also, just to see the practice, how the coaches work well with the athletes and getting the Michigan experience on the field stood out to me as well.”
