Michigan will honor graduate guard Joey Baker at senior day Sunday against Wisconsin. The Wolverines fell to the Badgers, 64-59, in the first meeting Feb. 14 but won both games since (over Michigan State and Rutgers) and are playing their best basketball at the right time. Both teams are on the NCAA Tournament bubble and view this game as pivotal for their chances.

According to Bart Torvik’s T-Rank, Michigan has actually been the second most efficient team in the Big Ten since Feb. 2, a stretch in which it’s gone 5-2.

Friday’s Michigan baseball game at Cal State Fullerton was postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 9 p.m. ET. The Wolverines will still play Saturday at 9 and Sunday at 4.

From MGoBlue.com:

The University of Michigan baseball team (2-2) heads back to the west coast to play five games in six days in California, kicking off with a three-game weekend set against Cal State Fullerton (2-2). All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Like Michigan, Cal State Fullerton split its first four games having defeated No. 2 Stanford in their opening game and winning their most recent game on Tuesday (Feb. 21) against Tulane on a walkoff. Fullerton’s two losses were part of their opening-weekend series against Stanford, dropping games 7-5 and 21-13 (10 innings). The Wolverines swept Fullerton last year at Ray Fisher Stadium, winning 2-1, 8-2 and 11-10. Michigan and Cal State Fullerton are tied 3-3 in the all-time series, with all of the Wolverines’ losses coming in NCAA postseason play. This weekend’s series will be Michigan’s first at Goodwin Field.

Michigan football is now three practices into spring ball, which will conclude with an April 1 scrimmage at The Big House.

Quote Of The Day

“It’s a good problem to have, right?. How hard is it going to be to get to five starters? It will probably be pretty hard, like it was last year. We had 6, 7, 8 guys we considered starters. Look now … we have Trevor Keegan, Karsen BarnhartGreg Crippen. Gio [El Hadi], Trente Jones, Zak Zinter, Jeff Persi … we consider them all starters. LaDarius, Drake Nugent, and Myles Hinton are all capable. Andrew Gentry is going to be really good. Reece Atteberry is really good. Dom Giudice has come over from the defensive side. He’s really good.”
