ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football is holding its annual spring game at The Big House. Follow along below for live updates from the intrasquad scrimmage.

FINAL: Blue 17, Maize 0

On a double flea flicker on the final play of the game, Bryce Underwood went deep for Jalen Hoffman for an 88-yard touchdown to pour salt into the wound for Maize. The final score is 17-0.

Jadyn Davis intercepted by Jeremiah Lowe

Maize was driving, down 10-0 trying to push the tempo, but Jadyn Davis threw an interception to Jeremiah Lowe. Blue will likely run out the clock and win 10-0.

Stuart Blake misses 42-yard field goal

Blue drove deep into Maize territory again, but Stuart Blake missed a 42-yard field goal, his second miss of the game with the other coming from 40 yards out. Bryce Underwood put the ball in harm’s way on third down, throwing the ball over the middle. It was tipped by Chase Taylor and nearly intercepted.

Blue takes over after a Maize punt. Jadyn Davis had a nice third-down throw to Peyton O’Leary down the right sideline, but the receiver dropped it. It would’ve been a massive gain.

Bryson Kuzdzal is having a day

Sophomore running back Bryson Kuzdzal is having a nice performance. He had some big runs, including a 38-yarder, on Maize’s drive that ended with Stuart Blake missing a 40-yard field goal. Blue takes over on its own 23-yard line.

The Blue team drove down thanks to a couple really nice passes and catches by Bryce Underwood and Jalen Hoffman, respectively. Underwood tried a fade to Andrew Marsh, who drew pass interference on Tevis Metcalf, and then Jamar Browder (incomplete). On 2nd and goal, Micah Ka’apana punched it in from 2 yards out to give Blue a 10-0 lead after the made extra point.

Jadyn Davis threw to the left sideline and was picked off by sophomore cornerback Jeremiah Lowe, who made a really nice read and play on the ball with great anticipation. The Blue team takes over on the Maize 32-yard line. Bryce Underwood remains in the game at quarterback for Blue.

HALFTIME: Blue 3, Maize 0

Blue leads Maize 3-0 at halftime. There will be a 15-minute break with the teams heading back up the tunnel to their respective locker rooms.

Tevis Metcalf picks off Bryce Underwood

Blue found itself behind the sticks on 3rd and 16 or so, and Bryce Underwood uncorked a ball way down field, with no receiver in the area. Tevis Metcalf had an easy interception. Maize takes over at its own 4-yard line after the return was negated due to a block in the back. There is 1:30 on the clock.

Maize moved the ball a bit but went for it on 4th down from the Blue 38-yard line, and Jadyn Davis’ pass fell incomplete intended for Peyton O’Leary.

The Blue team drove 82 yards but failed to convert on a third-down pass to the end zone by Bryce Underwood, intended for Channing Goodwin, and Stuart Blake knocked home the 27-yard field goal to put Blue up 3-0 with 11:03 to go in the second quarter.
Underwood had a nice third-down pass in the flat to Jalen Hoffman to keep the drive alive just after the second quarter started. He made quite a few nice plays on that possession, but the defensive backs were also sticky in coverage.

At the end of the first quarter, Blue and Maize are tied at 0-0. The Blue team is driving, however. Running back Justice Haynes had a big 26-yard run down the sideline. Plays later, Bryce Underwood found Channing Goodwin for 14 yards down the sideline. The ball is on the 20-yard line, first and 10 for Underwood and Co.

Maize picks up first, first down of the game

Jadyn Davis found Donaven McCulley on a free play for a 23-yard gain down the sideline, notching the first, first down of the game. The drive stalled out, however, with Jadyn Davis throwing incomplete on third down. Derrick Moore was a split second from notching a tag-off sack, so Davis had to get rid of it. Andrew Marsh fair caught the Hudson Hollenbeck punt at the 12-yard line, and Blue takes back over. There is 4:55 on the first quarter clock.

The Blue team went backwards, taking a delay of game on 3rd and 8 to make it 3rd and 13. Bryce Underwood threw into double coverage, intended for Channing Goodwin down field, and the pass fell incomplete. There was some contact but Goodwin didn’t get the call. Maize takes over at the 13-yard line after the punt by Hudson Hollenbeck.

Maize went for it on 4th and 1 from its own 40-yard line and Jordan Marshall was popped short of the line to gain. The Blue team takes over at the 41.

Blue team goes three-and-out

Bryce Underwood was sacked by Rayshaun Benny on the first play, Justice Haynes ran for six yards on second down and a screen to Channing Goodwin was blown up on third down. Blue punted to Semaj Morgan and the Maize team.

Captains meet at mid field

The captains have met at midfield for the coin toss. The Maize team will kick to the Blue squad to begin the game. Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood will be the first signal-caller on the field.
