Gameday central: Michigan football 2025 spring game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football will host its spring game Saturday at The Big House. The squad has been split into two teams — ‘Blue’ and ‘Maize.’
The “owners” of each team are defensive coordinator Wink Martindale (maize) and offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey (blue).
Michigan spring game will not be broadcast live on TV or radio
The spring game will not be broadcast live on television or radio. Instead, the scrimmage will air on Big Ten Network eight days later — Sunday, April 27, at 11 a.m. ET.
The NCAA transfer portal is open now but will be closed for entry once the game airs.
Game is free of charge
Michigan’s spring game is open to the public and free of charge. Gates open at 11 a.m., the team is set to take the field at 11:30 and the game will kick off at 12:05 p.m.
Weather
Weather.com projects that it will be 59 degrees and cloudy at kickoff (12 p.m. ET), with a 7-percent chance of precipitation and winds out of the northwest at 11 MPH.
For tailgating purposes, it will be 63 degrees with a 24-percent chance of rain at 8 a.m. Temperatures will drop to below 60 by 11 a.m., but the chance of rain will also dip to below 10 percent by 10 a.m.
Format and rules
• Kickoff is 12:05 p.m.
• Four 15-minute quarters
• Clock will stop at change of possession or scoring plays
• There will be a two-minute timeout in the second and fourth quarters. Will be 60 seconds.
• 15-minute halftime. Three-minute break between first and second, and third and fourth quarters
• Each team can run a maximum of two trick plays
• Kicks and punts are all fair caught
• There will be field goals and punts, but they aren’t allowed to be blocked
• Instead of onside kicks, there will be a 4th and 15 play that needs to be converted to keep possession
• Instant replay — teams can challenge two calls per half

Fan guide to Michigan Stadium
Parking
Parking options near Michigan Stadium will be extremely limited due to other events and activities in the surrounding areas. Any available parking in the lots around Michigan Stadium, owned and operated by the University of Michigan, will be free and open to the public starting at 7 AM (and is expected to fill quickly). There will be no parking available at the U-M and AAGO Golf Courses.

Traffic

Concessions
Select concession stands around the stadium will be open during the Spring Game. A variety of food and beverage options will be available for purchase, including alcoholic beverages in some locations. Alcohol will be served in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. All concession locations at Michigan Stadium are CASHLESS.
Bags and safety
