Thirty-nine former Michigan football players make initial NFL 53-man rosters
It’s a busy week in the NFL, with clubs mandated to cut their rosters to 53 players Tuesday by 4 p.m. ET. To begin the NFL season, Michigan Wolverines football will have 39 former players in the league, including players who transferred out of the program and concluded their collegiate careers elsewhere.
There were some players who made their teams comfortably, like Detroit Lions second-year defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson and Philadelphia Eagles veteran defensive end Brandon Graham. There were also some close calls, which was the case for rookie punter Brad Robbins, a sixth-round selection, who made the Cincinnati Bengals’ roster at the last minute and is the team’s starter. The organization cut former Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman, Robbins’ top competition, Tuesday.
Here’s a look at all 39 former Michigan players who are in the league, followed by a list of those who did not make rosters due to being injured and those who were cut.

Injured Michigan Wolverines in the NFL
The Tennessee Titans placed former Michigan running back Hassan Haskins on the injured reserve list Monday, ahead of Tuesday’s roster deadline. The following day, it was announced that Haskins has landed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, stemming from an aggravated assault charge from earlier this summer. He may not attend Titans practices or games for the foreseeable future.
Here’s a look at the rest of the former Michigan players who did not make 53-man rosters due to being on the injured list.
