An interesting subplot when the Detroit Lions take on the Seattle Seahawks Monday night is that former Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will square off with his former D-coordinator, Mike Macdonald. Macdonald spent one season with the Wolverines in 2021, helping the Maize and Blue win the Big Ten championship, before becoming the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator from 2022-23. He is now the Seattle Seahawks’ head coach and has led the team to a 3-0 start.

“Bringing that Ravens defense in when I was a senior, it felt like I was having fun again in football,” Hutchinson said about Macdonald. “I’m very thankful for him.”

Hutchinson also said he wanted to talk some trash this week.

“I remember him telling me he never really wanted to be a head coach,” Hutchinson noted. “Then I saw he took the job and I was like, you little liar.”

It is military appreciation day at The Big House for Michigan vs. Minnesota.

Disgraced former NFL and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said Michigan “won’t succeed without a passing game.”

Quote Of The Day

“It was great. Just seeing him in person and knowing he’s doing big things and is the best corner in college football, it’s a blessing to be around people like that. I look up to him. He’s the first player that I really started to look up to.”
