Michigan Wolverines football has nine players at the 2025 NFL Combine, and on-field drills and testing will begin Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The defensive linemen and linebackers are up today, and Michigan has three in the DL group in tackles Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant and EDGE Josaiah Stewart.

Graham and Grant will not go through on-field drills. Graham will bench press but is saving his performance for Michigan’s March 21 pro day. Grant, meanwhile, was found out to have a hamstring strain at his Wednesday medical exam, and he is expected to work out at pro day.

Two other Michigan players — cornerback Will Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland — won’t work out this week, with both position groups slated to test Friday afternoon. Loveland underwent offseason shoulder surgery and is expected to be healthy for training camp this summer. Johnson will compete at pro day.

Michigan’s other prospects at the combine are running backs Donovan Edwards and running back Kalel Mullings, offensive tackle Myles Hinton and long snapper William Wagner.

Thursday’s on-field coverage is televised on NFL Network from 3-8 p.m. ET.

Below are live updates from Thursday’s action at the combine, including how Stewart fares in drills and what’s being said about Wolverine prospects.

Stewart is not doing on-field drills with the edge rushers. It’s possible he works out with the linebackers lately, but nothing has been reported to this point.

The edge rushers are running 40-yard dashes, but Stewart is not among them. We will monitor if he goes through on-field drills. Not all players do the 40.

“A little bit of something going on, but looking forward to pro day,” Graham said in his interview.

Mason Graham compared to Braden Fiske

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah is discussing a player comp for Mason Graham and pointed to Los Angeles Rams second-year defensive lineman Braden Fiske. Fiske was the No. 39 overall pick in the second round last season, and Graham is expected to go much higher.

Daniel Jeremiah on game that stands out for Kenneth Grant

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah mentioned Michigan’s game against USC as a standout performance for Grant last season.
“Just watch the USC game, and when it finishes, put your feet up on the desk, have yourself a soda and that’s all you need to see,” Jeremiah said. “Just watch the USC game, grade the flashes, done. Put your pen down. Done. That’s all you need to see.”

Daniel Jeremiah raves about Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah, accompanied in the booth by Michigan alum and host Rich Eisen, started out the broadcast by discussing Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, neither of whom will participate in on-field work. Both are in street clothes supporting the other defensive linemen.

“That was the guts of that defense that won that national championship inside,” Jeremiah said of Michigan’s standouts and the 2023 team that won it all.

“You look at Mason Graham right here, who has a wrestling background going back to high school, and you can see it with how he plays, with the balance, the strength, the power. He’s gonna be a top-10 pick, most likely.”

Jeremiah continued by breaking down Grant.

“Just look at the size — 331 pounds,” Jeremiah said. “We’ll wait for the pro day to get a 40 on him, but he’s gonna run in the 4.9s, carrying that weight. That brings me flashbacks to [former Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle] Haloti Ngata, who I was around.”
