Early Michigan football betting odds: National title, win total, Ohio State game spread
Michigan Wolverines football finished the 2024 season unranked in the Associated Press poll for the first time since 2020, finishing 8-5. The Maize and Blue were 5-5 before winning their last three games over Northwestern (50-6), Ohio State (13-10) and Alabama (19-13).
With the 2024 college football season in the books, the page has been turned to 2025, and Michigan is working toward a bounce-back season. Both national media outlets and Las Vegas oddsmakers believe the Maize and Blue will at least be in contention for a bid in the College Football Playoff, too.
Michigan landed in the top 25 in nine of 10 publications’ “way-too-early” rankings, and the Wolverines currently have the 13th-best odds to win the national championship, according to FanDuel, at +3500.
Ohio State, which will look to defend its national championship, has the best odds to win it all at +450, followed by Texas (+650), Oregon (+650), Georgia (+700), Penn State (+850), Notre Dame (+1200), Alabama (+1600), Tennessee (+1800), Clemson (+1800), LSU (+2000), Ole Miss (+2300), Texas A&M (+3000) and Michigan (+3500).
The Wolverines have the fourth-best odds among Big Ten teams, behind only Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State.

Michigan has a brutally tough schedule in 2024, one of the reasons for the drop-off after winning the 2023 national championship. The Wolverines played Three of the top four teams in the final AP poll Ohio State (first), Oregon (third) and Texas (fourth) along with No. 10 Indiana, No. 16 Illinois and No. 17 Alabama.

FanDuel gave over/under win totals for 21 college football teams, including Michigan. The Wolverines’ over/under is 8.5 wins.
Last year, Michigan ended with seven regular-season wins, the least it’s had in a full-length season since 2014, when it ended with five before head coach Brady Hoke was fired and replaced with Jim Harbaugh. Las Vegas is in the camp that believes the Maize and Blue will up that total.

Early betting line for Michigan vs. Ohio State
FanDuel has also set point spreads for several college football games, with Michigan checking in as a 9.5-point home underdog to Ohio State. The over/under is set at 47.5 points.
Michigan has beaten Ohio State in four straight meetings, including 13-10 as 19.5-point underdogs in Columbus this past year.
Moore and Co. begin the 2025 season with a clash against New Mexico, before heading to Normon to take on SEC opponent Oklahoma.
