Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is in negotiations with the university about a contract extension that could make him the highest paid coach in the Big Ten. He also reportedly went through a virtual interview with the Denver Broncos Monday. At the same time, Harbaugh has remained constant that he expects to be Michigan’s coach this coming fall, and reiterated that to MLive’s Aaron McMann Friday.

Michigan sophomore forward Will Tschetter has earned more and more playing time lately, most recently notching a career-high 12 minutes in the Wolverines’ 93-84 overtime loss to Iowa Thursday night. Tschetter posted a career-best 7 points on 3-of-3 shooting from the field and 1-of-1 from long range. Former Michigan basketball player Ant Wright broke down how valuable having Tschetter in the lineup was for the Maize and Blue.

Georgia’s 65-7 beatdown of TCU in the national title game barely had more people watching than Michigan’s 45-23 beatdown of Ohio State Nov. 26 in Columbus — 17.2 million viewers to 17.14 million.

Michigan’s 13 wins stand as the most for a single season in program history. Its 25 victories over the last two years are the highest amount ever by the Wolverines in a two-year span.

The Wolverines blew through the Big Ten, winning nine regular-season conference games, plus a triumph over Purdue in the championship. The run included two wins over top-seven opponents — No. 4 Ohio State (45-23) and No. 7 Penn State (41-17). The Maize and Blue beat all of Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State in the same season for the first time since 2000. They took down all three opponents by 20-plus points in the same year for the first time ever.
