Newsstand: Bryce Underwood collaborates with Barstool Sports for Black Friday merch drop
Tweets Of The Day
2025 Belleville (Mich.) High five-star+ Michigan quarterback commit Bryce Underwood is set to sign with the Wolverines next Wednesday (Dec. 4), and he’s already benefitting off of NIL. Underwood collaborated with Barstool Sports for a Black Friday merchandise drop of a tee shirt with 19 and Underwood on the back and ‘QB1’ on the front. The proceeds from the shirt sales go directly to Underwood.
Underwood was lured to Michigan in part because of NIL (like most prospects nationally), and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a U-M alum, played a role, as did Oracle founder Larry Ellison and his wife, Michigan alum Jolin Ellison. Larry Ellison is the second-richest individual in the world, per Forbes. Portnoy said on the Barstool College Football Show that the Ellisons deserved more credit than him for landing Underwood.
“It was before it was really known. It’s like, ‘I’m getting a lot of this credit. I’m a little uneasy,’” Portnoy revealed. “She was like, ‘I don’t need the credit. I need national championships. I need to stack ‘em.’
“When I found out we had the second-richest person on earth — the second-richest person on earth — saying, ‘all I want to do is win.’ And by the way, we were talking that first call, we were talking every quarterback like, ‘Should we take him? Him?’ I was like, ‘Ehhhh.’ It was beautiful!”

Ohio State has high hopes for the rest of the season, but Michigan can really put a damper on things this weekend.
Michigan will go with its all-white uniform combination, including white cleats.
Quote Of The Day
Still, up until kickoff Saturday, and perhaps for several hours beyond, Day won’t know if he will be able to accomplish that goal. A feeling of uncertainty will continue to nip at him and most of their starters, who bear the mental scars of Michigan’s recent dominance. The Wolverines, even though they are in decline, are not weighed down by the same emotional burden. Each day, the players are surrounded by reminders of their Ohio State conquests. A mural with snapshots of the ’21 and ’22 wins adorns a wall in the Schembechler Hall foyer. On Monday, it was in the eyesight of quarterback Davis Warren as he told reporters the Wolverines were planning to have “fun” and play “loose” on Saturday.
