Game week is here for Michigan Wolverines football, which opens up the season with a date against Colorado State Saturday afternoon at The Big House. Starting jobs, backup positions and contributing roles were determined during fall camp and will continue to be earned throughout the season. Here, we break down our projection for where the defensive depth chart stands heading into the 2022 season. We’ll have at least two deep at each position. We've also decided to use 12 positions, since Michigan's base defense is a 3-4 but the Wolverines primarily used a nickel look (two down linemen, two outside linebackers, two inside linebackers and five defensive backs) last season.
