Link started games at right and left tackle for Michigan last season, and now he’s building off that momentum heading into his junior year.

“It’s been great,” Link said of how his offseason is going. “Winter lifts were a lot of fun. It’s one of my favorite times of the year, just kinda getting back to basics in the weight room. There’s a lot of room to grow right there, and it’s really fun to do because you can see the gains from beginning of it to the end of it. You can definitely feel yourself getting stronger.”

Link was pleased to earn a starting role for Michigan last season.

“That was a tremendous honor,” Link said. “Obviously, it was a bit of a challenge, right? It was a huge opportunity that was given to me, and it was definitely a challenge that I had to face. But at the end of the day, it was a huge honor to be given that trust. There were definitely some ups and downs to that season and how I played, but at the end of it, I know I gave it the best I could and played the best when it mattered — beat Ohio State, beat ‘Bama when we needed to. I’m definitely proud of that.”

Hillman, meanwhile, is known for his hard hitting on the back end of Michigan’s defense. He’s working on controlling his aggression.

“My focus this year is like … as you all can see, I can hit people. That’s not a thing for me,” Hillman said. “Kinda taking my time out there, really breaking it down, try to minimize the kill shots — keep them there, but that’s my aggression, just knowing when to do it. I only got one body, so I gotta take care of my body as long as I can, so I can stay on the field as long as I can.”
