Michigan Wolverines football is hard after five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor, hoping to land his pledge and signature during the late recruiting period. Harbor has had a relatively quiet recruitment for such a highly touted prospect, not even releasing a top schools list. However, there are some programs standing out for him at the end of the cycle — Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina, USC and Oregon.

“They’ve got great academics,” Harbor told Bama Insider. “You’ve seen that they’ve gone to the playoffs back-to-back. Even though they lost, it was still a good season as they went 13-1.”

Even though Juwan Howard and Greg Gard met up and chatted at Big Ten Media Day, there appears to be some bad blood between the two programs, at least from a player standpoint. On his podcast, Roundball, Hunter Dickinson made a bold statement about his dislike for the Badgers.

Michigan graduate EDGE Taylor Upshaw entered the transfer portal.

He has one year of eligibility remaining, and it appears he will spend his sixth collegiate season elsewhere.

Upshaw appeared in 38 career games with two starts for the Maize and Blue.

He recorded 12 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and 2 sacks, 1 interception and 1 quarterback hurry this past season. He played 272 defensive snaps, the 16th-most among Michigan defenders and fourth-most among Wolverine edge rushers.

Upshaw missed three games with an injury in 2021, but racked up 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 5 total stops.

He registered 17 tackles, including 3 behind the line of scrimmage and 1 sack, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception during the 2020 campaign, his most productive season that was just six games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He filled in for the injured Aidan Hutchinson in the final three and a half games of the year.

Quote Of The Day

“Michigan was always on the TV growing up. It’s hard to not learn to love a team that you are always watching, so that’s been interesting in my recruitment. My dad is trying not to be biased. I love Michigan, but it’s also cool seeing some of these other schools that have interest in me. I’m not saying I won’t end up there, but I’m giving everyone the same look.”
