Former Michigan running back Hassan Haskins (2018-21) made a game breaking play in the Los Angeles Chargers’ 34-27, comeback win over the Denver Broncos. The Chargers moved to 9-5 and are a near-lock to make the playoffs.

Quarterback Justin Herbert scrambled up to his left and popped a pass to Haskins, a backup running back. Haskins took it 34 yards for the touchdown, turning on the jets after making a nifty juke for the first receiving score of his career.

That put the Chargers up 34-24 with just over two minutes to go. Denver did kick a field goal a minute and a half later but had only two timeouts remaining so was forced to attempt an onside kick, which was recovered by Los Angeles, who hung on to win 34-27.

Coming into the game, Haskins carried 14 times for 26 yards, 1 touchdown and 6 first downs. He didn’t have a catch all season prior to his touchdown.

Haskins and Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, his former head man at Michigan, shared an embrace after the play.

Highlights from the fourth quarter of Michigan’s 27-20 overtime win over Alabama in the Jan. 1 Rose Bowl, a victory for the ages.

Michigan quarterback transfer Jayden Denegal, who entered the portal last week, has committed to San Diego State. Denegal appeared in only one game over three seasons with the Wolverines.

Quote Of The Day

“I think it’s a little bit of a beautiful thing, the way he came in versus the way I came in — it couldn’t be any different. I don’t know if there was even an article written about me when I was committed, and I’m sure there have been a lot written about him. But you wouldn’t even be able to tell. He’s just a guy that wants to get better, wants to improve, knows he’s got a lot to learn, just like any freshman would, but he’s been great. Today was really his first day rolling with us, and he wants to help this team win games, just like I do, just like everybody in this building wants to. That’s the way [Michigan head] Coach [Sherrone] Moore has built it. He built the recruiting classes. I’m so glad that Bryce is here, and it’s gonna be a lot of fun to have him.”
