Wolverine TV: Jim Harbaugh, Michigan players react to 51-7 win over Colorado State
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football head coach Jim Harbaugh, senior quarterback Cade McNamara and other players met with the media following U-M’s 51-7 win over Colorado State Saturday afternoon at The Big House.
Harbaugh had only positive things to say about McNamara’s performance during his 16th consecutive start. He went 9-for-18 passing for 136 yards and 1 touchdown. McNamara’s receivers dropped a few passes, but the offense wasn’t as smooth as the Wolverines would have liked. Sophomore quarterback J.J. McCarthy entered the game and took over in the second half. He was a perfect 4-for-4 for 30 yards passing and rushed 3 times for 50 yards and a score.
McNamara said he believes the offense as a whole was a bit off kilter, and that’s to be expected for a first game. He explained that he’ll be part of the process of cleaning up the mistakes. McNamara was asked about Michigan’s quarterback setup — McCarthy will start Game 2 against Hawai’i next week — and he didn’t have much to say there.
