Michigan Wolverines football has 16 wide receivers on its spring roster but is looking for more through the NCAA transfer portal. Head coach Sherrone Moore and Co. have extended a scholarship offer to Campbell wide receiver transfer Sincere Brown.

The 6-foot-5, 190-pounder entered the transfer portal March 18 and has immediately picked up Power Four interest. Brown has one year of eligibility remaining, after spending three seasons at South Florida (2020-22) and two in the FCS at Campbell (2023-24).

Brown has posted on social media that he’s also received offers from West Virginia, California, North Carolina, Utah, Louisville, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Wake Forest.

According to NCFootballNews.com, Brown intends on graduating this spring, meaning there won’t be an admissions issue for undergraduate acceptance at his next school.

Brown played in 12 games for the 3-9 Campbell team last season, leading the team in receptions (61), receiving yards (1,028) and touchdown catches (12).

He was named first-team All-CAA (Coastal Athletic Association).

Campbell is primarily an outside wide receiver who has both contested catch ability and can rack up yards after the catch. He hauled in 8 contested catches on 21 attempts, per PFF, while averaging 8.6 yards after the catch per reception. He averaged 16.9 yards per reception and 85.7 per game.

Campbell saw action in only one game in 2023, after transferring in from USF. He played sparingly during his stop at the FBS level with the Bulls, seeing time in only three games in 2022, two in 2021 and five in 2020. He made 1 grab for 19 yards during those three years, which came in his freshman campaign in 2020.

The Charleston, S.C., native attended First Baptist Church School. As a member of the 2020 recruiting class, he checked in as a three-star recruit and the nation’s No. 2,342 overall player.

Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey said this week that his focus is on the current roster this spring but that the staff will work to fill needs as they come about.

“Last year, I remember going through — we thought that spring portal, we’d be able to get some good players through that spring portal, people around the country, some of my buddies at other places,” he said. “But it wasn’t that way. The December portal seemed to be more top-notch players.

“For us, we need to focus on the guys we have here in the building. And then after the spring, we’ll see what that looks like and address those needs. But at the end of the day, let’s coach these guys up here, focus on that and then go from there.”
