Newsstand: Michigan officially announces the additions of four transfers
Tweets Of The Day
Michigan has four transfer commitments so far this cycle in offensive lineman Brady Norton (Cal Poly), safety TJ Metcalf (Arkansas), cornerback Tevis Metcalf (Arkansas) and wide receiver Donaven McCulley (Indiana). The Wolverines officially announced them as additions to the program on Tuesday.
Norton has three seasons of eligibility remaining after spending two at Cal Poly, redshirting in 2023 and starting in 2024. He’s appeared in 14 games with 11 starts. Norton started at left tackle all 11 games in which he played during the 2024 regular season, posting a 73.5 overall PFF grade and 90.6 pass-blocking rating, which ranked tops in the FCS. He allowed 3 pressures — never more than 1 in a single game — and no sacks.
TJ Metcalf racked up 57 tackles, including 1 for loss, 7 pass breakups and 3 interceptions as a sophomore, appearing in 12 games with 11 starts for the 6-6 Razorbacks. He is one of 35 Power Conference safeties with 3 or more interceptions this season. He saw action in 12 outings as a freshman in 2023, posting 15 tackles.
Tevis Metcalf played just 15 defensive snaps in two games as a freshman, but the 5-foot-10, 192-pounder did play in all 12 contests on special teams, featuring on the kick return, kick coverage and punt return units, among others.

McCulley had a very good 2023 season, notching 48 receptions for 644 yards and six touchdowns. He entered the transfer portal after new coach Curt Cignetti was hired, but he withdrew and came back to compete. But Cignetti added several receivers from the portal, and after McCulley was injured in the opener and missed week two, the writing appeared to be on the wall. He notched two catches for 21 yards and a touchdown before entering the portal in October.
The final 2024 season stats for five-star+ quarterback Bryce Underwood as a senior at Belleville (Mich.) High.
