Michigan press conference notes

Topics discussed at this Michigan press conference inside Schembechler Hall include:

• How Oluwatimi acclimated to the Michigan offense. He said it took him a lot of hours studying film and learning with coaches after transferring in from Virginia in January. He came to spring ball with a wide range of knowledge, though, and he’s one of the Wolverines’ most experienced men up front and on offense in general. He also said he didn’t come to Michigan trying to be a leader or a captain, but that once he got comfortable in the scheme and with the team, he started becoming more vocal. Oluwatimi also discussed his battles with the Michigan defensive tackles and how the Wolverines’ defense keeps him on his toes.

• Sainristil’s switch to the defensive side of the ball. He’s now several months into his switch, and it appears it has stuck. Most of his practice reps are coming at defensive back, and he’ll play some receiver at times, too. He also discussed the mentality of the Michigan team this season as opposed to the past.

• Wilson made mention of ‘old Michigan’ and wanting to take the next step — winning the national title, after making the College Football Playoff for the first time last season. He also said he is the fastest player on the team and broke down some others who are in contention.
