ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan Wolverines football head coach Sherrone Moore met with the media following his team’s 27-24 win over USC. Watch video of Moore in the embed below or on our YouTube channel.

Michigan’s head coach described the scene in the locker room after the thrilling victory.

“It was insane,” Moore said. “It was fun. They were throwing me around. I’m not a small dude, so for them to throw me around took a lot of force and power, so I’m a little sore right now. But it was incredible. The best things about our team, we’ve got a team. Whether you run it, whether your throw it … they say you should throw it more. We won. And we beat a good team.

“For us that’s what it was all about.”

Michigan rushed for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns, winning the game despite amassing only 32 yards through the air.

“I love it. I love every minute of it,” Moore said. “That’s my dream to see it. Yeah, I want to throw the ball, but when you can run the ball effectively, it kind of brings [the opponent] down a little bit.

“For our guys, the look in their eyes this week, how they prepared, how they practiced … we adjusted some things in practice to make it a little more competitive, more physical. The guys responded, and they loved it. They loved it, and they took it to heart, and I think the O-line … I’m so proud of them, because I’m so hard on them. So proud of what they did and how they played today, so shout out to them.”

The Michigan coach was asked if the Wolverines have an extra satisfaction winning a game against a top 15 opponent after so many outsiders wrote the team off. More than anything, he was just happy to get the win and move on to Minnesota next week.

“I could answer that so many ways, Moore said. “Really, we’re just trying to go 1-0 each week. We’re not going to worry about what people say about us. People write about us. You win, there’s always a criticism, you lose, there’s a criticism.

“For us, it’s how do the guys in the building feel about each other, how are we going to work to get better, how are we going to be 1-0 that week. That’s it. That’s all we’re worried about. We have a family, I love these kids like they’re my own, and we’re just going to work better every day. That’s it.”
