Michigan’s passing game got going last week against Northwestern, but the Wolverines have a bigger task ahead going against Ohio State this weekend.

“They’re as good as any defense in the country,” Moore said. “Complete defense. Got great skill, got great talent. Do a good job with the scheme, something we’re familiar with, we’ve studied, we’ve watched. They’re a really good team, so we have to go execute at a high level to go win.”

Moore was asked what it’s like running out to take the field at Ohio State, and how Michigan will prepare to face a charged up environment.

“We’ll have those conversations internally as a group of how we’ll do that,” Moore said with a sly smile. “But obviously, crowd noise in practice and do those things. I think our guys love those environments, so we’ll definitely increase the crowd noise, and we’ll put it in the indoor. It gets pretty loud. But we’ll definitely have to weather the elements and create some noise and keep distractions outside, too, to make sure we understand what the weather is going to be like.”

National signing day is coming up Dec. 4, and Michigan will also look to navigate the transfer portal. Moore talked about the balance of adding talent from each.

“It’s very important,” Moore said. “You want to cut your teeth on the high school players and grooming those, but you have got to supplement and do the things you need to do in the portal. So we’re gonna focus on both. We have plans for both, and we’ll continue to do that. But obviously, we’re continuing to try to bring in the best players we can that fit us and fit the systems and fit this culture here.”

Moore was asked how to describe the “emotional tax” that comes along with being a participant in the Michigan vs. Ohio State rivalry.

“I mean, I don’t know about an emotional tax,” Moore replied. “It’s fun. It’s everything you want it to be. When you grow up as a kid — whether you want to be a coach, whether you want to be a player — this is what you wanted to do. You wanted to be in these types of games. So it’s awesome to be a part of. It’s a lot of work and something you think about all year, and it’s an exciting time for us to be in.”
