Where Michigan targets stand in updated 2024 On3 recruiting rankings
The On3 national team has released their updated football recruiting rankings for the 2024 class, and several Michigan targets were featured in the On300. The group is headlined by four-star Saline (Mich.) High quarterback CJ Carr.
Carr is Michigan’s top target at the position in 2024, with the nation’s No. 31 overall prospect and fourth-ranked signal-caller residing right in the team’s backyard. On top of that, his father, Jason, played quarterback for the Wolverines and his grandfather, Lloyd, was the team’s head coach and led U-M to the 1997 national title. Carr is also considering Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State and others. The Wolverines hold the edge for Carr on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 55 percent.
Michigan also has offers to a handful of other quarterbacks in 2024, including Carlsbad (Calif.) High’s Julian Sayin, the No. 47 prospect in the class, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei’s Elijah Brown, the No. 115 overall recruit nationally and Allen (Texas) High’s Michael Hawkins, the No. 198 overall recruit nationally.

Aside from Carr, Michigan is in the mix with several other talented prospects in the Midwest. That list includes Rochester (Mich.) Adams tight end Brady Prieskorn, the No. 69 overall recruit nationally, Chillicothe (Ohio) High tight end Tayvion Galloway, the No. 160 overall recruit nationally (he will visit Michigan June 23), Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, the No. 171 overall recruit nationally, River Rouge (Mich.) High wide receiver Nick Marsh, the No. 183 overall recruit nationally, St. Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan, the No. 219 overall recruit nationally.

Outside of the region, Michigan has received visits from these On300 recruits — Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan wide receiver Ryan Pellum, the No. 50 overall recruit nationally, Brookline (Mass.) Dexter offensive lineman Liam Andrews, the No. 82 overall recruit nationally, Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea offensive lineman Isendre Ahfua, the No. 86 overall recruit nationally and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back Earl Kulp, the No. 191 overall recruit nationally.
Michigan does not hold any verbal commitments in the 2024 recruiting cycle at this time. The Maize and Blue’s staff has been on the trail over the last month, and U-M is set to host visitors throughout the spring and summer. The most notable weekend is June 17, when double-digit 2023 recruits are expected on campus.
