Michigan football reveals uniform choice for big game against No. 1 Oregon
Michigan Wolverines football (5-3 overall, 3-2 Big Ten) will do battle with No. 1 Oregon (8-0, 5-0) Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines announced on social media Friday afternoon that they’ll wear their traditional blue jerseys with maize pants and blue accessories.
Michigan has gone with blue on maize for four of six home games so far this season — wins over Fresno State, Arkansas State, Minnesota and Michigan State. The Wolverines sported blue jerseys with blue pants in two clashes, too, a loss to Texas and a victory over USC.
Here’s Michigan’s look for this weekend’s game:
Michigan typically goes with maize pants at home. The Wolverines have only sported blue pants 21 times in program history — including in 12 home tilts.
The Wolverines’ traditional colors will clash with Oregon’s always-creative uniforms. The Ducks will wear their “warp speed” combination, featuring black and silver helmets, white jerseys and white pants.
Michigan is searching for its fourth-ever victory against the nation’s top-ranked team. The Maize and Blue are 3-16-1 all time versus No. 1, with the latest matchup being a 42-39 loss at Ohio State in the famous 1 vs. 2 game in 2006.
