Michigan Wolverines football is set for its fifth straight home game to open the season, before going on the road at Washington next week. Minnesota is headed to The Big House to take on the Wolverines, who will be wearing their blue jerseys with maize pants and socks.

Michigan revealed its uniform choice with a social media post Friday afternoon.

The Wolverines also wore maize pants for games against Fresno State and Arkansas State. They sported blue pants for matchups with Texas and USC.

Michigan and Minnesota will battle for the Little Brown Jug for the 99th time this weekend in Ann Arbor. The Maize and Blue have a 73-23-2 edge in games with the trophy on the line.

They’ve won 26 of the last 28 and 44 of the last 50. Michigan has kept possession of the jug by winning the last four meetings, including last season’s 52-10 beatdown in Minneapolis.

Michigan’s 77 wins over Minnesota are the most U-M has over any school. The Golden Gophers are the Wolverines’ third-most common opponent all time, with 105 matchups.

“[Minnesota head] Coach [P.J.] Fleck always runs a disciplined, tough physical program,” Michigan head man Sherrone Moore said on the ‘Inside Michigan Football’ radio show this week. “The the running back is really good. They’ve got two of them. They got to transfer, Marcus Major, and then Darius Taylor, the kid that’s been there. Both of those guys are really good players.

“The offensive line is big — huge — but they got to transfer quarterback. They’ve always got some receivers somewhere that are going to make some plays, but I know they really want to run the football. And they do a really good job there defensively.

“They’re going to be an open show quarters team, play some man. They’ve changed up a little bit cause they got a new coordinator, but definitely a team that’s going to play with all-out effort and physicality.”

Michigan is a 10.5-point favorite over Minnesota, with the over/under for total points set at 34.5. Kickoff is set for 12:05 p.m. ET on FOX, with Gus Johnson (play by play), Joel Klatt (analyst) and Jenny Taft (sideline) on the call. U-M is 3-1 on the season, 1-0 in Big Ten play, while Minnesota is 2-2 and 0-1 in conference action.
