Newsstand: Ryan Day says Ohio State is 'scarred' from 2021 Michigan loss
Tweets Of The Day
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is 1-1 against Michigan, including last season’s 42-27 beatdown loss at The Big House. The Buckeyes went 11-1 and beat Utah in the Rose Bowl, but they’re not satisfied after winning four straight Big Ten titles prior to 2021.
“Maybe at some places 11-2 with a Rose Bowl victory is a good year. It isn’t at Ohio State,” Day said at Big Ten Media Days. “Our three goals are beat the team up north, win the Big Ten Championship, win the National Championship. That’s our goals, and those things didn’t happen last year.
“It doesn’t change next year or the year before. Just a different team with a different group of guys, more experienced. Again, when you think about those first few games last year, we had a lot of young guys, and now we’ve gone through a whole season and off-season together. I think our guys are a little scarred — they’re a little calloused. They know what it’s like to lose a game, and that’s not fun.”

Quote Of The Day
“We can’t rely on what we did last season to give us any complacency as to what’s going to happen this season. We can’t lay off the gas pedal at all. If anything, we need to push it down to the floor because we’re going to have an even bigger target on our back this season. “The key is making sure we don’t return to where Michigan was a couple years ago [2-4 in 2020]. The majority of the guys on the team were there for that COVID season, and they know what that felt like. We definitely don’t want to feel that again. Even though we saw success last season, we don’t want to take any steps backwards.”
