Moore opened his press conference with a statement, which included his lack of ability to speak on NCAA investigations that are ongoing, asking the media to respect that he has to preserve the confidentiality of those situations.

“Camp is going phenomenal. We’re in a really, really good place. Getting callouses, as we say around here, having a physical camp. But also having fu,n too.

“Competition is at an all-time high. Guys are not satisfied where [they are], and we’re going to continue to do that.

“I know there are some questions regarding the whole NCAA investigation and things, and really the statement is, we’re cooperating fully with the NCAA. Have in the past, will in the future and we’ll continue to do that. Right now, it’s an ongoing case, and we need to preserve the confidentiality of the proceedings. We hope you guys understand that. I know there are questions about all that stuff coming up.”

Moore was asked about Michigan’s quarterback competition, but he didn’t have much of an update. The battle is raging on and may do so until game week or even game day.

“They’ve all been really good,” the Michigan coach said. “They’ve had their days that one guy’s been good, one guy’s been really good, one guy’s been better — so not a frontrunner. Really kind of all on an even plane right now, and we’ll see when we go through this week, next week and then game week.”

While there’s not a favorite to win the job per Moore, he did express a lot of confidence in the Michigan quarterback group as a whole.

“With all of them, you’ve seen them be mature, be leaders, be poised, make plays,” Moore said. “Really, it’s just that, just continuing to do that on a consistent basis. All of them have done that. All of them have made plays in their own right at every position.

“It’s gonna take time. It’s gonna take that week, it’s gonna take maybe that day to figure out who the guy is.

“But feel really good about that room. Feel really good, really confident. They’ve all made really good throws, they’ve all made plays with their legs, they’ve all done things to put themselves in a good position.”
