Michigan spring roster takeaways: Jersey numbers, heights/weights, more
Michigan Wolverines football released its 2024 spring roster Saturday, displaying jersey numbers and heights/weights for incoming transfers and early enrollee freshmen, a uniform digit switch for a veteran defender and more.
Here are key takeaways from the roster update.
Quick notes
• Michigan graduate cornerback Keshaun Harris is on the roster, showing that he’s back for his sixth season of college football. The former track athlete appeared in 11 games last season.
• Two players on offense are currently No. 81 — senior wide receiver Peyton O’Leary and freshman tight end Hogan Hansen. Presumably, one will have to pick different digits before the start of the season, otherwise they can’t be on the field in games at the same time.
• Michigan senior Cristian Dixon announced on social media that he was switching to defense. Sources told TheWolverine.com that he was set to play cornerback. However, he’s listed as a wide receiver this spring.
Michigan WR no longer with program
The most notable development with the roster unveiling was the omission of sophomore wide receiver Karmello English, who’s no longer with the program. He announced soon thereafter that he intends on entering the NCAA transfer portal in April. He played in six games last season, burning his redshirt, and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Josaiah Stewart with new jersey number
Michigan senior EDGE Josaiah Stewart will wear No. 0, after playing in No. 5 last season. He sported No. 0 at Coastal Carolina, before transferring in to play for the Wolverines ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Stewart is the only No. 0 on Michigan’s roster. Defensive back Mike Sainristil wore it last year. Sainristil and Stewart played high school football together at Everett (Mass.) High.
Michigan transfers
Michigan brought in two transfers that enrolled and joined the program in January — linebacker Jaishawn Barham (Maryland) and offensive lineman Josh Priebe (Northwestern).
Barham will wear No. 1, the same digit he sported with the Terrapins, while Priebe will stick with No. 68, which he donned with the Wildcats. Barham is the only No. 1 on the roster, after defensive back Amorion Walker transferred to Ole Miss following the 2023 season and wide receiver Roman Wilson declared for the NFL Draft. Priebe is also the lone Michigan player with the No. 68.
Barham is listed at 6-foot-3, 248 pounds. He was 6-4, 233 pounds on the Maryland roster in 2023.
Priebe appears at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds. He was 6-4, 310 on the Northwestern roster last season.
Player | Jersey Number | Height | Weight |
LB Jaishawn Barham | 1 | 6-3 | 248 |
OL Josh Priebe | 68 | 6-5 | 305 |
