Blake Corum’s big day

Our first Michigan takeaway from the game revolves around junior running back Blake Corum, who was big-time. He rushed for five touchdowns last week but somehow still upped his level of play in the win over Maryland. With sophomore Donovan Edwards out, leaving Michigan with very little running back depth, Corum had to carry the running game on his back. He rushed 30 times for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns, both of which were key. His first score came on a fourth down late in the first half and gave the Maize and Blue a 17-13 lead heading into halftime. The second was a 47-yarder with 3:31 to go that gave the Wolverines a 15-point edge and all but sealed the victory.
