FanDuel released odds for the 2025 Heisman Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football, and three Michigan Wolverines were listed.

Last season, Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter won the award, after quarterbacks had taken home the hardware in seven of the previous eight seasons. It has been primarily a quarterback award, and two Wolverine signal-callers showed up on the list of players with odds: graduate Mikey Keene and freshman Bryce Underwood. Junior running back Justice Haynes also had his name appear.

Where Michigan stands in 2025 way-too-early college football rankings

QB Bryce Underwood: +6000

Underwood — the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation — is the crown jewel of Michigan’s incoming freshman class, and he’s an early enrollee currently taking part in winter workouts.

Him being listed ahead of Keene (+10000) doesn’t mean he has a better chance of winning the starting job — though he will have his shot — but it does indicate that Las Vegas oddsmakers believe that if he does earn the role, he has the upside to shine and turn into one of the best players in the country.

At the same time, making it to New York, let alone winning the Heisman, is extremely difficult. In fact, no true freshman has ever won the award. So betting on Underwood is betting on history happening. He has the top odds on FanDuel among incoming freshmen.

QB Mikey Keene: +10000

The Fresno State transfer has a chance to step right in and win Michigan’s starting quarterback job, but he’ll have to beat out Underwood to do it. The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder has started 34 career games and thrown for over 8,000 yards and 65 touchdowns, so he has experience. He also has familiarity with the offense the Wolverines will run, having played for new coordinator Chip Lindsey at UCF in 2022.

Oddsmakers aren’t necessarily bullish on his potential to win the Heisman — a $100 bet would pay out $10,000, some great winnings — but he’s listed because he may start at Michigan, and the Wolverines may compete at the top of the Big Ten.

RB Justice Haynes: +18000

The Alabama transfer isn’t quite Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love (+5000), who has the best odds to win the Heisman among running backs, but he made the list.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder is the second-best running back to have transferred this offseason, according to On3, after putting up 448 yards and 7 touchdowns with the Crimson Tide a year ago. He is expected to have a relatively heavy workload and compete at the top of the depth chart with sophomore Jordan Marshall, who ran for 100 yards in the ReliaQuest Bowl win over Haynes’ former Alabama team.
