Michigan football to hold open practice, followed by Valiant NIL event

Michigan Wolverines football announced Wednesday that it will open a portion of its practice Saturday (Dec. 17) to the public ahead of an NIL event. Practice will be open from 3:15-4 p.m. ET at Glick Fieldhouse, before Valiant Management, the football team and women’s gymnastics squad will welcome fans into Oosterbaan Fieldhouse, which is connected to Glick. The ticketed event, which will give fans the chance to interact with the student-athletes, is set to have activities such as inflatable stations for kids, photo/autograph stations, live interview area, a DJ and more, will last from 4-6 p.m. ET.

The Michigan program announced its open practice via social media and expressed that photo or video will be prohibited. Capacity will be limited to 200 fans.

The NIL event costs $50 to enter, and fans can purchase tickets on The MDen website.

Michigan is 13-0 for the first time in program history and is set to take on TCU in the Fiesta Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal Dec. 31 (5 p.m. ET). The Maize and Blue are seeking their 12th-ever national title and first since 1997. Michigan has won the Big Ten each of the last two seasons, extending its lead on the rest of the league with 44 conference crowns.

Michigan’s total NIL value of its roster is $10.1 million, according to On3, with a $100,000 average value per player. Junior running back Blake Corum ($1.1 million) and sophomore quarterback J.J. McCarthy ($677,000) have the two highest NIL valuations on the squad.
