Michigan football is set to release a five-part video series going behind the scenes on the Wolverines’ offseason, beginning today (July 5) with new episodes each Thursday. The Maize and Blue are two-time defending Big Ten champions and looking to win a third straight, along with capturing the program’s first national title since 1997.

Michigan has the fourth-best odds to win the national championship, according to Bet MGM, at +900. That trails only Georgia (+220), Alabama (+600) and Ohio State (+700). Georgia is looking to become the first team to win three straight national titles since Minnesota in the 1930s.

Last season, Michigan’s offensive line was named the best in America by winning the Joe Moore Award. At the center of the group was Olusegun Oluwatimi, who won the Rimington Trophy (nation’s best center) and Outland Trophy (nation’s best interior lineman on either side of the ball).

Michigan basketball has nine former players set to compete in the 2023 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which runs from July 7 to July 17. Each team is guaranteed five games — four regular season tilts plus at least one playoff clash.

Wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy joined host Jon Jansen on the In The Trenches podcast Wednesday to discuss his position group.

“We talk about development every day, whether it be individual drills, whether it’s film study, whether it’s within practice,” the Michigan assistant said. “It’s continuing to grow and develop — that’s something common in this program is you’re going to get developed. When you get developed and you prove to your coaches and teammates that you’re ready, when your number is called, be ready for it. It could be five plays, 10 plays, 50 plays — whatever it may be. When your number is called, be ready for it.”

Quote Of The Day

“If the coaches weren’t there, what would it look like?. You visualize that. And J.J. is a kid that can lead the operation. You watch him out there talking to his teammates, pulling a receiver aside and walking through things with him or just taking accountability even if a receiver may have not caught a ball or something of that nature. He’s like, ‘I’ll get it there.’ It’s like, ‘No, we’ll get there.’ Those are the signs that you look like — man, this kid gets it.”
