Michigan is 4-2 coming out of its bye week, before taking on Illinois this weekend. The Wolverines have settled on their third starting quarterback of the season, with graduate Jack Tuttle set to take over. FOX analyst Joel Klatt believes the Wolverines’ best football could be ahead of them.

“Aren’t they like the great anomaly? Do we really know what Michigan is at this point of the season,” Klatt said on his podcast. “So Jack Tuttle comes in after the first quarter against Washington, and at the high end with Jack Tuttle, it’s like, ‘This team can be a playoff team. Watch out, they can win the rest of the games on their schedule.’ Then, all of a sudden, the three series after that, when they’re turning the ball over, you’re like, ‘Well, this isn’t going to work.’ Any team in the Big Ten can beat Michigan.

“If they can hold on to the football, they’re going to be tough to beat. But if they continue to turn the football over then a lotta teams can beat them. And you look at the rest of their schedule, and it’s pretty easily two or three more losses if they’re turning the ball over.”

Michigan has 12 turnovers through six games, including two by Tuttle in the fourth quarter of the loss to Washington. The Wolverines gave the ball away only 8 times in 15 outings last season.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland takes exception with a ranking of Michigan running back commit Jasper Parker.

Quote Of The Day

“I know you can look at things and say, ‘Oh, well, this guy is giving this up or that guy’s giving that up, or the ball went through this hole or the ball went through that hole.’ It’s all 11 guys. And if we’re getting a great pass rush, some of those things don’t happen on the back end. I think it’s hand in hand. It’s not one group or one person. It’s us as a group, and those guys know it and they take that pretty seriously.”
