11/23/2024 04:55:27 PMMichigan freshman safety Mason Curtis recorded the first interception of his career on a 4th and 13 pass over the middle by Jack Lausch. That’s the second takeaway for the Maize and Blue this afternoon. Michigan takes over at its own 42-yard line. Curtis could’ve batted the ball down, but he reeled it in.
Kalel Mullings punches in third touchdown of the day
11/23/2024 04:45:00 PMMichigan running back Kalel Mullings has his third touchdown of the day, this one from 1 yard out to give the Maize and Blue a 31-6 lead with 5:12 to go in the third quarter.
Mullings has now rushed 12 times for 97 yards with 3 scores.
The Wolverines drove 45 yards on 10 plays after the Northwestern three-and-out.
Michigan without Colston Loveland in second half
11/23/2024 04:34:55 PMMichigan radio sideline reporter Jason Avant said on the broadcast that the Wolverines will be without Colston Loveland — who scored a touchdown with eight seconds left in the first half — the rest of the way. He’s the team’s leading receiver. He didn’t come out of the locker room and back on the field after halftime.
It was described by the broadcast as an “unspecified injury.”
Michigan double dips with score to begin third quarter
11/23/2024 04:28:55 PMMichigan scored on its two-minute drill before halftime, got the ball to start the third quarter and quickly put another touchdown on the board. The Wolverines went 75 plays in five plays — and four of them were runs by graduate running back Kalel Mullings. He ripped off a 47-yarder to fuel the drive and scored on a 10-yard rush.
Michigan holds a 24-6 lead with 12:10 left in the third quarter.

Michigan allows deep pass, holds Northwestern to field goal

Zeke Berry was in coverage, but didn’t identify the underthrown ball. Luke Akers made a 26-yard field goal after the Michigan defense got a stop in the red zone.
The Wildcats have now kicked a pair of field goals in the red area.
Michigan leads 10-6 with 1:57 to go in the second quarter. The Wolverines have all three of their timeouts.
Northwestern gets on the board with Luke Akers field goal
11/23/2024 03:32:13 PMMichigan’s defense held Northwestern to a field goal after the sudden-change situation, with the Wolverines throwing an interception. Northwestern’s Luke Akers made a 28-yard field goal after the 5-play, 10-yard drive that took 2:11 off the clock.

Davis Warren throws seventh interception of the season

Northwestern’s Xander Mueller picked it off, on a pass that was intended for Colston Loveland. The Wildcats take over at the Michigan 20-yard line after the 25-yard return.
Michigan leads 10-0 but is in jeopardy of surrendering Northwestern’s first points of the game.

11/23/2024 03:08:37 PMMichigan quarterback Davis Warren took a sack, losing 9 yards on third down to back the Wolverines nearly out of field goal range. But Dominic Zvada has ridiculous range, and he drilled the 56-yard field goal to give the Maize and Blue a 10-0 lead with 1:09 to go in the first quarter. Zvada now has 6 field goals of 50-plus yards in his U-M career and on the season — both are program records.

11/23/2024 02:52:01 PMMichigan took over with good field position off of the Aamir Hall interception, and the Wolverines XXX. They picked up a defensive pass interference in the end zone on 3rd and 12 from the 14-yard line, with the defender ripping Colston Loveland to the ground, which placed the ball at the Northwestern 2-yard line. One play later, Kalel Mullings ran to the right and stretched the ball out for the 2-yard touchdown run.
Michigan leads 7-0 with 6:44 remaining in the first quarter, following the made extra point by Dominic Zvada.
