Michigan Wolverines football is taking on Ohio State for the 120th time in history Saturday afternoon in Columbus. The Wolverines have won three games in a row in the rivalry, including the last one in Columbus in 2022.

Dominic Zvada makes field goal, Michigan gets the stop

The Wolverines drained the clock and drove all the way down for Dominic Zvada to hit a 21-yard field goal with 45 seconds to go. Michigan’s defense held once again to cap off an incredible performance, and the Wolverines were able to kneel out the clock.

Davis Warren throws interception at the goal line

Michigan went on a 77-yard drive all the way to the Ohio State 3-yard line. Davis Warren dropped back on first and 10 and threw a pick to Jack Sawyer. Warren had Hogan Hansen open but needed to put more air on the ball.

Michigan didn’t get a first down after the interception, and Davis Warren threw an interception of his own on third down. Caleb Downs picked the pass off, and the Buckeyes take over on the Michigan 16-yard line.
Michigan’s defense got a quick three-and-out, and the Buckeyes missed a 34-yard field goal wide left. That was the second missed field goal by Jayden Fielding today. The other was from 38 yards.

Makari Paige nabs Michigan’s second interception of the day

Ohio State started on Michigan’s side of the field with great field position, and drove into the red zone. But on a third-down play, Makari Paige picked off a Will Howard pass that was intended for Emeka Egbuka. Paige has 2 interceptions in the venue during his career, having had one to help seal the 45-23 win in 2022.
Michigan takes over at its own 9-yard line with under five minutes left in the third quarter.

Ohio State’s two-minute drill was a success, with the Buckeyes driving 75 plays in 9 plays capped off by a touchdown pass from Will Howard to Jeremiah Smith from 10 yards out. There are 30 seconds left in the half. Michigan has two timeouts.

Michigan extends lead with Dominic Zvada field goal

Michigan took over at the Ohio State 36-yard line after another defensive stop and short punt. The Wolverines gained only 3 yards, but Dominic Zvada made a 54-yard field goal to put Michigan up 10-3 with 2:15 remaining in the first half.

Michigan’s defense just came up huge again with Ohio State deep into Wolverine territory. Jayden Fielding’s 38-yard field goal attempt went wide left. The Wolverines still lead 7-3 with 7:28 to go in the second quarter.

Will Howard knocked out of the game, Devin Brown enters at quarterback

Ohio State quarterback Will Howard kept the ball on third down and was stopped short of the line to gain by Ernest Hausmann and Makari Paige, who laid the wood with a big, but clean, hit.
Ohio State picked up the fourth down conversion on a run by Quinshon Judkins, but Howard — who did walk off on his power after going down for a few minutes.. The Buckeyes have the ball at the Michigan 23-yard line, 1st and 10.
Howard reentered the game after a media timeout, so he missed just one play.

Michigan stopped two straight Ohio State runs for minimal gains with the Buckeyes starting at their own 3-yard line, before Will Howard threw a pass out of his own end zone toward the sideline, that was picked off by Michigan cornerback Aamir Hall, who also had a pick last week.
Two plays later, the Wolverines cashed in with a Kalel Mullings touchdown run from 1 yad out.
Michigan leads 7-3 with 12:37 to go in the second quarter.

Michigan stopped on fourth down

Michigan put together a long drive down to the Ohio State 3-yard line, where Kalel Mullings was stopped on a fourth-down run up the middle. The spot was reviewed, but the play stood after the officials took a second look at it. The Buckeyes take over at their own 3-yard line, up 3-0 with 14:44 left in the second quarter.
Michigan’s drive lasted 11 plays and 72 yards, chewing 6:30 off the clock.

Ohio State strikes first with field goal

Ohio State took over on its own 31-yard line after a 33-yard punt by Tommy Doman following Michigan’s first drive. The Buckeyes drove down with some short passes and then a pass interference call on Quinten Johnson, who was guarding wideout Jeremiah Smith on a deep pass. Michigan’s defense got the stop in the red zone, with Ohio State settling for a 29-yard field goal by Jayden Fielding.
Ohio State leads 3-0 with 6:14 to go.
