Michigan Wolverines football is taking on Purdue for the Big Ten championship game Saturday night. Follow along below for live updates throughout the game.

Live updates: Michigan football vs. Purdue in Big Ten championship game

• Final: Michigan 43, Purdue 22

• 4Q, 1:22 — Kalel Mullings punches in a 3-yard touchdown to make it 43-22. The Wolverines ran on every play that drive. Purdue called two of its timeouts and has one remaining.

• 4Q, 5:07 — Mitchell Fineran’s 32-yard field goal is good. Purdue marches down 60 yards in 13 plays. Michigan’s lead is now 36-22.

• 4Q, 9:06 — J.J. McCarthy rips a 17-yard touchdown pass to Ronnie Bell. Michigan goes for two and gets it with a McCarthy pass to Luke Schoonmaker.

• 4Q, 9:57 — Aidan O’Connell’s pass was intercepted by Will Johnson at the Purdue 16-yard line, marking Johnson’s second pick of the day.

• 4Q, 10:07 — J.J. McCarthy scrambles on 3rd down and was tackled three yards short of the marker. Originally, a flag was thrown for a facemask, but the officials convened and determined that it wasn’t a foul. Michigan punted it away, with Purdue taking over at its own 12-yard line.

• 4Q, 12:37 — Purdue drives down and sets up a 27-yard field goal for Mitchell Fineran. The kick is good. Michigan leads 28-19.

• End of the third quarter: Michigan leads 28-16. Purdue has the ball, 2nd and 10 on its own 35-yard line.

• 3Q, 1:35 — J.J. McCarthy scrambles around and fires a ball into double coverage down the field — his third interception of the season. Purdue takes over on its own 24-yard line.

• 3Q, 3:37 — Purdue kicker Mitchell Fineran knocks home a 43-yard field goal to bring Purdue within 12 points, 28-16.

• 3Q, 7:38 — Michigan picked up enough yardage to get out of the shadow of its own goal line, but didn’t pick up a first down. Brad Robbins’ punt went 49 yards to the Purdue 41-yard line.

• 3Q, 9:29 — Purdue drove down to the Michigan 18-yard line, before Aidan O’Connell’s pass was picked off by Michigan freshman cornerback Will Johnson. The defensive back was ruled down at the 3-yard line, where the Wolverines take over.

• 3Q, 10:32 — Donovan Edwards runs through tacklers and finds his way into the end zone for a 27-yard touchdown run. The drive started with a 40-yard pass from J.J. McCarthy to Luke Schoonmaker.

• 3Q, 12:25 — Michigan gets a 60-yard run around left end from Donovan Edwards on the first play of the second half. The Wolverines capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run from junior linebacker Kalel Mullings, who’s been playing both ways the last two weeks. Seven offensive linemen were on the field on the scoring play. The Maize and Blue hold a 21-13 edge.

• End of the second quarter: Michigan 14, Purdue 13

• 2Q, 0:51 — Michigan goes three-and-out on its two-minute drive attempt and punts it away. Purdue begins on its own 28-yard line.

• 2Q, 1:23 — Purdue kicker Mitchell Fineran nails a 45-yard field goal. Michigan has a 14-13 lead with the ball, set to run its two-minute offense.

• 2Q, 7:05 — Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy scrambles out right and finds tight end Luke Schoonmaker for a 7-yard touchdown on third down. The Maize and Blue have taken a 14-10 lead. Thirteen plays, 75 yards, 6:34 for the scoring drive.

• 2Q, 13:39 — Purdue’s 33-yard field goal is good, making it 10-7 Boilermakers early in the second quarter.

• End of the first quarter: Michigan 7, Purdue 7. The Boilermakers faked a punt and picked it up, and are now driving. Wideout Charlie Jones has been the star, with 73 receiving yards in the first stanza. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell is 11-of-12 passing for 108 yards thus far.

• 1Q, 3:20 — Michigan goes three-and-out, after Ronnie Bell dropped a deep pass over the middle on 3rd and 13. Brad Robbins’ punt travels 40 yards with no return. Purdue begins on its own 38-yard line.

• 1Q, 4:13 — Purdue running back Devin Mockobee gets in from 1-yard out after review. The Boilermakers have tied it up at 7-7.

• 1Q, 4:54 — Purdue hits an inside handoff to wide receiver Tyrone Tracy Jr. for a 21-yard touchdown, after connecting on a few big passing plays to get deep inside Michigan territory. The play is under review — Tracy’s knee may have been down before he crossed the plane. After review, Tracy was ruled down at the 1-yard line. It’s first and goal.

• 1Q, 9:11 — J.J. McCarthy throws it up for tight end Colston Loveland, who comes down with a contested catch in the end zone. The Wolverines lead 7-0 after their first possession.

• 1Q, 12:59 — Michigan got two tackles for loss and forced a three-and-out. The Wolverines start on their own 45-yard line.

• 1Q, 14:55 — Purdue will start on its own 19-yard line.

• Michigan won the toss and chose to defer to the second half. Purdue will receive to open the game.

U-M has won eight of the past 10 games in the series. The most recent meeting came in 2017, a 28-10 win for the Wolverines in West Lafayette, Ind.

Michigan is a 16.5-point favorite over Purdue with the over/under set at 52 points.

The Wolverines are 7-4-1 against the spread this season, and 3-1 in the last four games. The total has gone under in eight of 12 contests. Purdue is 5-7 against the spread this year and the over has hit seven times.
