Michigan has nine players who earned All-Big Ten honors according to Athlon (first team only) and Lindy’s (first, second and third teams):
K Dominic Zvada: First team Athlon, first team Lindy
LB Jaishawn Barham: First team Lindy’s, not on Athlon
EDGE Derrick Moore: First team Athlon, not on Lindy’s
RB Justice Haynes: Second team Lindy’s
DT Rayshaun Benny: Second team Lindy’s
EDGE TJ Guy: Second team Lindy’s
LB Ernest Hausmann: Second team Lindy’s
S Rod Moore: Second team lindy’s
CB Jyaire Hill: Third team Lindy’s

Sayfie and Broome believe Moore was a snub on the Lindy’s list, especially considering Athlon had the Michigan EDGE on the first team.

“It’s certainly not a shot at the publications that put these magazines together, because we know how difficult and all-encompassing that can be,” Broome began. “The reality is that I think that it lends itself to snubs because you’re putting a preview magazine together of, what is it, 136 teams now, as opposed to we are all in on covering this team so we know there are guys on this roster that the average fan will never know who their names are.

“… I take some of these national previews with a grain of salt. I think when you look at a guy like Derrick Moore from a numbers perspective, a lot of people don’t realize that, as good as Josaiah Stewart was last year, when you look at the pressures, Derrick Moore was right up there with Josaiah Stewart. Both of those guys had 37 pressures last season. He’s a guy that, if he’s able to finish off more of those plays and turn them into sacks, I feel like there are a lot of times when he’s a fingertip away from bringing down the quarterback.

“By the time Michigan’s season ends, he could be a first-team All-Big Ten kinda guy. I think he’s that good.”
