Michigan’s head coach opened up by saluting his seniors after a lot of the veterans’ final game inside The Big House.
“So thankful for our seniors, what they’ve done here,” Moore said. R”ight now [46-8] record, just awesome to be part of the growth and maturation of these young men and players. Just so happy for them to get their last win here in The Big House.”
Michigan’s offense was much more successful in the second half, and Moore explained the differences that he saw.
“I thought we did a good job formationally adjusting to helping the box runs,” he said. “Sometimes you get a lot of people in the box and it’s hard to run. Some formations dictate they can; some formations dictated that they can’t. I also though the guys just moved the guys more. We did a really good job fundamentally, played with lower hats, better hands. [Graduate running back] Kalel [Mullings] obviously got it going really early with a huge run. I think that momentum was great.”

Michigan scored right before halftime and again on the first drive of the second half, which is important since the team stresses winning the ‘middle eight’ minutes of the game.
“It was awesome,” the coach said. “Great to see, great for our defense to get a stop, hold, then for our offense to go down and score. That was a huge part, and great momentum shifting into the second half.”
Michigan was coming off its second bye week of the season, which was dubbed by senior fullback / tight end Max Bredeson, ‘buy in week.’ The Wolverines played what Moore described as the team’s most complete game of the season.
“We really locked into the little things. We called it “buy-in” week. That was Max Bredeson’s idea,” the Michigan coach said. “I’m’ not going to take credit for that. I thought the guys all did a really good job of doing the little things and attacking, lt really started that Monday. We had a scout team practice and probably the most energetic practice especially on a Monday we’ve had coming in after a loss. For those guys to be like that and buy in like that meant a lot. Talks about the culture, where these guys are where we are, so they just worked on the little things, and this week practiced really well with a lot of energy. It was fun to be a part of.”
