Michigan women’s basketball won its fifth top-25 game of the season with a 77-58 victory over Ohio State Thursday night in Columbus.

Michigan had four players who scored in double figures, led by 20 points from senior forward Naz Hillmon, who added 12 rebounds — six offensive and six defenses — and three assists and shot 7-of-10 from the field. Senior guard Leigha Brown notched 16 points, three rebounds and two assists, while junior guard Maddie Nolan poured in 12 points on a team-high three made three-pointers. Nolan is now shooting 47.9 percent from three-point range — an amazing clip — with 46 makes on 96 attempts.

In the game, Hillmon recorded her 930rd rebound, which made her the Michigan program’s career leading rebounder.

Michigan safety Brad Hawkins, who ran out of eligibility and is off to the NFL, joined PFF’s Tailgate podcast and had some high praise for his head coach, Jim Harbaugh. Hawkins has played in more games than any other Wolverine in history, having taken advantage of the NCAA’s free year of eligibility in 2020, but one — the 42-27 victory over Ohio State Nov. 27 — stood out above the rest. Hawkins said the team beat the Buckeyes for Harbaugh, who lost his first five meetings with the arch rival.

Quote Of The Day

“Mike is one of us — a Raven through and through. During his initial seven seasons with us, it was evident that his leadership, intelligence and passion would earn him the opportunity to be a defensive coordinator in the NFL. Mike has continuously proven himself, including when he led one of the country’s best defenses at Michigan last year. He is a proven play-caller who knows our system well. He also fully understands the standard of playing defense in Baltimore.”
